Sci-Friday #154 – If Hacking Scenes in Movies Were Real

Posted on July 15, 2022July 18, 2022 By Jackson Allen

Hi sci-fans – happy Sci-Friday! Today’s video is: ‘If Hacking Scenes in Movies Were Real.’ Take a look:

Bingo. Actual hacking takes time, it’s boring to watch, and the payoffs rarely happen in real-time. Been a fan of techno-thrillers since I was knee-high, so I try to avoid the ‘superman hacker’ trope in my stories. Sadly, Hollywood still hasn’t received the memos. That’s why you’ll get videos like this one, where some white hat hackers comment on the accuracy of hacking in movie scenes (TL;DR – they aren’t).

Hope you enjoyed this discussion, please feel welcomed to dive down the rabbit hole of every other Sci-Friday I’ve published in the past couple years. Don’t forget to play Interactive Top Ten! Have a great weekend! 🙂

About Me

My name is Jackson Allen. My intention is to be a self-sufficient science fiction author. I spend my time actively writing, querying, submitting neo-Golden Age scifi and I analyze future trends, asking: "how can new tech and innovation help kids feel excited about the future?" Lots of self-published shorts - actively querying for a formal, mainstream publication house.
