Yeah, I know I said it was silly to think Elon Musk would buy Twitter. His seemingly obvious attention grab turned into sickening reality with the news we all received this week. Where do we go from here? TBH, I’m prepping for a post-Twitter universe and I’m not the only one. Here’s what the NYT said:
“Musk is already Twitter’s ultimate player. Now he’s buying the arcade. Everything people love or hate about it will become his fault. Everything he does that people love or hate will be held against the platform. He will be Twitter. He will have won the game. And nothing loses its luster quite like a game that has been beaten.” N.Y. Times
I’m still on Twitter of course – you don’t abandon one of your best audience engagement platforms on a dime. But I’m also gearing up over at Mastodon.Social. Twitter has always gamified conversation, but I’m not going to ‘pay to win.’
